From the moment that it was first developed to keep researchers located from different universities connected to each other through their computer networks, it has since spread out to connect people online from different parts of the globe using their own computers.

Setting up a website gives you an opportunity to enter into a market with a global audience. You are now able to reach out to a market bigger than you ever thought possible.

The World Wide Web has enabled even the small businesses to conveniently establish a presence in a global market that was once just reserved for the big guys. By opening up a website, you now can sell your products to people not only from your neighborhood but also from the far reaches of the planet, as long as they are connected online.

But then, with the growth of the Web comes also the development of websites. With the many opportunities that abound on the Web, millions and millions of websites have since made their own stake in this rapidly growing online world. Websites previously only established themselves to provide something of worth to an early global audience

But now, websites have to compete with hundreds of other websites for attention from their audience. Their success now depends on just how effective they are in convincing and persuading the people that do visit their websites. Good web design has a lot to do with this.
